In the first MX1 moto Marco was running behind Carpenter and putting some pressure on in the first half. After a heated battle in the lead group and some hard charging through the entire moto it looked like the 5th place was where he would finish up. In the second MX1 moto again a great start and some hard charging would put Marco in the mix with the top 8 riders, as they battled back and forth the positions were changing and riders were showing some impressive lines especially on the huge uphill jump (Dube and Morgan). Blair Morgan looked as though he had something to prove at his home track and was making some ground on Marco. Dube never faltered. He put his head down and actually put a few seconds between them with some awesome racing between them, again one of the most exciting battles. June 19 Morden Manitoba Race Report National 3Our waiting to ride on one of the most beautiful tracks of the circuit was wasted by natural lady. Saturday at the time of the practices the track was dry and even dusty and Sunday, believe me it was a mud festival. The only thing I can add it is that this race was the worst race of mud of my career. First moto: I had a bad start once again but I quickly recover in the two following corners and went back in 10th position. After the first lap, I have already thrown my goggle like probably 75% of the riders. Nobody in crowd can recognize us anymore. We all are too much full with mud. I made my way up to 4th position but I had some falls. Several times I believed that the race was finished for me but each time I went back on the track again. I finally crossed the finish line in 8th position. Le samedi lors des pratiques la piste était sec et même poussiéreuse et le dimanche, croyez moi c’était le festival de la bouette. La seule chose que je peux ajouter c’est que cette course a été la pire course de bouette de ma carrière. Première moto : Je connais encore une fois un mauvais départ mais je récupère rapidement car dans les deux coins suivant je me suis faufilé en 10ième position. Après le premier tour terminé, je n’ai déjà plus de lunettes comme probablement 75% des coureurs. Personne dans la foule ne peut nous reconnaître. Nous sommes tous beaucoup trop plein de bouette. J’ai descendu jusqu’en 4ième position mais j’ai connu quelques chutes. Plusieurs fois je croyais que la course était terminée pour moi mais à chaque fois j’ai réussi à repartir. J’ai finalement été chercher la 8ième position. This week end was held the second race of the Canadian Championship on Gopher Dune. Gopher Dune is a sand track. That track is roughness track on the circuit. At that race, you can see who trained prior the season. In the practices, I qualified with the third fastest lap time, so it gave me a good spot on the gate. But, unfortunately, I crashed hard in the first corner with 5-6 other guys. The red flag was given. I had 15 minutes to repair my bike. So, we ran right away to the pit. When I see my bike I was sure I was not able to do that race. But, Mario my mechanic with the help of other KTM mechanics put together my bike in time for the restart. Believe it or not we change a radiator, header pipe, rear brake galiper and rear wheel. So, for the restart I knew I did not have the right tire and the right sprocket but I was there. After a terrible start, I made my way up to the 6 place. Second moto, I’m back with my good set up for that deep rough sand. I started around 12 and I manage to go up to the fourth place. I even pass the third rider but he got me right back. So I finish my day with a fourth place, and a third overall. I’m very satisfied under these circumstances. Marco Dubé Gopher Dune National 2Ce week-end avait lieu la deuxième tranche du championnat Canadien. La piste de Gopher Dune est une piste de sable qui devient défoncée au max. C'est-à-dire qu’après les pratiques si vous allez marcher la piste, tout ce que vous allez voir c’est des quickers, accélérations et breaking bumps et des woops de 3 pieds de haut partout. C’est une piste très dure physiquement et c’est à cet endroit que l’on voit qui a fait son entrainement! Après avoir fait le troisième meilleur temps, je me trouvais a choisir une bonne gate de départ pour la première moto. Je suis tombé dans le premier coin assez solide avec 5 à 6 autres gars. En relevant ma moto je constate les gros dégâts. Mon mécano Mario et moi nous retournons au pit immédiatement pour essayer de réparer la moto. Le drapeau rouge pour arrêter la course avait été donné et nous avions 15 minutes. En arrivant au camion quand j’ai vu l’état de mon bike je croyais que je ne pourrais pas faire la course. Mais avec l’aide de plusieurs mécanos de KTM et même Tim Tremblay nous avons réussi un miracle. Nous avons changé radiateur, head pipe, galiper de brake arrière et roue arrière. Je suis de retour juste à temps pour le départ. Par contre, je n’ai pas le bon pneu à sable et ni le bon gearage. Je connais un très mauvais départ vers la trentième place. Je remonte malgré la misère que j’ai partout puisque j’ai aucune traction. Peu importe, je suis allé chercher la 6ième position et c’est beaucoup mieux qu’une DNF que je croyais faire quand j’ai vu ma moto. Deuxième Moto, on a remit le bike avec le bon tire sur une nouvelle roue car l’autre avait un paquet de spokes de cassés. J’ai donc le bon pneu et la bon gearage. Je prends le départ environ 12ième. Je commence ma remontée. Je remonte jusqu'à la quatrième, je finis par passer le troisième, mais il me repasse. Je finis la journée avec une quatrième place et une troisième au combiné. Je suis super satisfait, ça faisait longtemps que je n’étais pas allé sur le podium. Merci encore une fois a Mario mon mécano et tous les autres mécanos chez KTM.
